Just When You Thought I Disappeared
Updating with healing and prospering
Hello Substackers--I’ve been 2.5 months away from the cyber-desk and social media. Life took us on a detour and away from my typical music business routine. Not “getting things done” goes against my grain, but the break felt good and was necessary for physical healing from a couple ailments. Basically, I slept away the month of August, going through a medical protocol to beat an intestinal parasite named blastocystis hominis, a tiny pest playing whack-a-mole in my gut since 2021. I finally found a herbal medical protocol (an alternative to conventional antibiotics that have limited effect) and it’s restoring my digestion, energy, and immune system. I’m groovin’ now! Concurrently, I fell off a ladder and incurred a painful leg injury--an angel was with me as it could’ve been worse. As of last week I started exercising and walking again. Hallelujah! This coincided with us making a major move across the San Francisco Bay Area. We’re now in a bigger home with more space and slightly sunnier weather, but still in quick striking distance to the city.
Despite being off the grid, the vinyl LP of We’re Getting Closer to the Sun landed (click here to order your copy and I’ll sign it, too):
and I was featured on the podcast Vibes, History, & Culture, hosted by Kevin Washington https://www.podbean.com/ew/pb-zjscv-1978db3
Also, I went into the studio with Prairie Prince, Robert M. Powell, and Chris von Sneidern to finish songs intended to celebrate Native American History Month in November (a single will be released by next week). I’m also setting goals for 2026 (to be announced soon).
Thank you for your subscription and follows! It is heartening and mightily appreciated. Please keep in touch--let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see or hear me do from this site. God bless, JJB
